Mother's Day Saturday I spent some time doing lawn decorating with my mom for Mother's Day. Her idea was to hang some bottles from a tree growing in a marsh in the back yard. I dont recall where she found this idea, but claimed that it was done to repel bad spirits. This comes from an old African tradition. Anyway, my cousin has more height than I do, so he wound up climbing the tree instead of me. Shannon made 'bottle nunchuks' with a bottle tied on either end of a 3-4 foot piece of rope. I would take the bottles and have to toss them to my cousin in the tree. The past 4 days have been interesting.
Thursday: Shannon had the accident not 3 minutes after she left the house to head to work. She was passing Crescent Park when someone in the opposite lane cut her off turning into a plaza on the corner. Luckily no one was hurt, but there was a lot of damage done. What pissed me off the most while we were at the scene was how people unrelated to the accident started coming up to us telling us to bring Shannon to get checked out at the hospital. As right as they were, they SHOULDNT have been coming up to us at all. I yelled at some guy telling him that I'd talk to him later only because I thought he was involved with the other car. Turns out he was just random jackass. I seriously would have decked him, if he wasnt so much bigger than me.
I was miserable in the hospital. I was absolutly scared out of my mind that something was going to wind up wrong with the baby. We spent 6 hours at the hospital checking on Shannon, the baby's heart beat and any signs of contractions. Everything checked out fine, but in a way I'm still worried about what kind of effect the accident could have had on the baby. All I can do is hope that he turns out ok.
We passed the time watching Scrubs, and afterwards I had Linda drive us to get Wendys and liquor. Yay Wendys and liquor.
Friday: The aftermath. We had to talk to estimators, tow companies, rental car places, etc. We got a ride from Linda to the truck to get some stuff and I wound up riding my bike home from the truck. In order for me to meet with Shannon at the accident I had to hop on my bike and peddle my fat Mullet ass to the scene, and having to ride with Shannon in the ambulance I decided to just toss my bike in the bed of the truck.
Rocky was pretty decent enough. I got some good photos, but I'm going to take my time on posting them on the myspace. Oh, according to the slide show I was Eddie. I think I did a good job with it last night, having no costume, no makeup, no saxophone, and having Chris up there to perform for me while I took photos. I did an amazing job, as always :P *heehee*
Saturday: Havent gotten a whole lot of sleep. Friday was the same. I think in the past 2 days I've gotten 7 hours sleep.
Today I had to meet up with my dad's friend Billy who was helping me move a desk out of my brother's old apartment. It's a really nice desk too. Hopefully there is going to be room for us to use it when we eventually move.
Around noon we met with our real estate agent to look at houses. This is our 2nd week with Marco (who we met through my cousin Ronnie) and this trip was by far the better one. Last weekend we found 2 decent properties, but after today we're on the edge ready to jump towards putting an offer. I'll post more about the property later, more because I want to see how this goes and give better detail.
And for anyone who asks, NO! I HAVENT SEEN IRON MAN YET!! LOL! I was going to go tonight, but I decided to take a nap after the circus that has been the past 3 days. Shannon and I are going to see it tommorrow.
3 days untill our 1 year anniversary. I have to get cracking on her present. It's already picked out, it's just getting out and doing it.
The best part of today (aside from the house hunting and a nice lunch at Gregg's) was that I got to feel my son kicking. This really hits me hard. I'm so happy that I am going to be a dad. I'm also scared out of my mind, but I think if he looks more like his mom things will turn out okay. ;)
We've been looking towards Joseph Gabriel or Joseph Sylar for a name. Someone suggested Josiah, which is a nice name, but if we go that way we may just call him by his middle name. Shannon and the baby are fine, but...
Shannon and the baby are fine, but were in a car accident.
Shocky was on her way to work in the Ford when not 5 minutes after she left the house she calls and says she's been in an accident.

Writer's Block: Saturday Night
Well 5 years ago we'd be at Rocky on a Saturday night. It wasnt untill a few years ago we started doing our shows on Friday nights. Also we'd be going to Bickfords after our shows instead of IHOP. Aliens
I'm watching the 2nd of the Alien series, and I cant help but laugh at something.
Ripley and crew go thru blueprints to check for any openings that the aliens may get into the medlab and operations bay. They seal ALL hatches, doors, airvents, electrical service tunnels, anything a human can get thru.
The aliens go above the steel walls and thru the drop ceiling.

2 Cats looking for a good home!
Hi all! This goes out to anyone in the RI area who is interested in taking in cats into their home. The cats in question belong to Dave Hollinsworth, who is looking to find good homes for the cats to go to. Here are a few words from Dave on the cats.
There are two female cats, and they are sisters from the same litter.
Approx. 4 years old. Both are shorthaired (or at least, have shorter
hair than average for a cat). Both are spayed, so no more kittens
will result. Both are apparently really good mousers, if that makes a
difference to anyone. (I run a clean house, and so I haven't had to
test that theory. When they were in NH, they got small game fairly
regularly.) They're pretty active, so if someone is home to entertain
them a lot, it would help, but that's not a big deal. They're indoor/
outdoor cats, but they've stayed pretty much permanently inside my
house for the winter, so they can adapt to whatever they're given.
Lucy is a brown tabby, with a little hint of black tiger stripes.
She's slightly smaller than her sister, and (at least according to my
mother) is the more intelligent of the two.
Daisy is mostly grey, but has the tortoiseshell grey/brown/white mix.
She's the super-affectionate one...if there's a lap available, she'll
jump in it.
My mother has their medical records, and she'll be forwarding them to
me soon. They are due for a vet visit this month, but if you find
someone to take them, tell them that either (a) I'll do it before I
give them away, or (b) preferably, if that person has a vet that they
use regularly, have them take them for the full workup and then send
me the bill...I'll gladly pay it.
I do have some pictures, but they're with a friend of mine who's also
trying for me. As soon as I get them back, I'll give them to you and
you can scan them if you'd like.
I would like to keep them together, but if someone is only interested
in one of them, I'm more than willing to split them up. If someone
would like to travel to Cranston to see them in person, that can
easily be arranged.

I just went upstairs to check on Shyguy and the kitten. For some reason she decided to move the kitten into shannon's dresser (probably thought it'd be warmer there).
